went to queen's place yesterday, because wenn was bugging me to go haha and i kinda regret making the statement, "two is boring and three is fun". why? because those two pesky girls seem to like to bring this up to make me go out with them lol anyway, here's some pics that i took druing our chilling session..

and these few days ive been trying to pack my sis' room, although 90% of the work is done by my maid =p and i realise something, she have got lots of soft toys.. more than mine i think haha (i used to collect them when i was younger)

so other than that, the next monkey reviews will be a big hit, with one probably getting 5 monkeys from me! haha so till then, happy waiting =p

heard this song first in the nodame cantabile drama special episodes and thought that it's really good. its variations of the song twinkle twinkle little star. you should really hear it, its really really good =)
another post on monkey reviews from the renown critic in thedelinquentone.blogspot.com, mr caleb poon! i shall be touching on 1 review each on every segments - anime, drama & movie.
anime. Nodame Cantabile (Japanese) i caught hold of this anime when i saw the title. yes, cantabile, a music term which simply means songlike. and as what i expected, this anime is based on orchestry and music. this anime is rather similar to La Corda d'Oro (LCdO) except that this was based solely on orchestras, while LCdO has a bit of emphasis on bands.
i particularly love the lame-ness of the female character, Noda Megumi who utters out meaningless words like "Gyabooo" and "Mukyaaa" randomly and also the love-hate relationship that the main characters have, which finally blossomed into a loving one. loved the mongoose (a costume that nodame wore) and the music too! <3

drama. Nodame Cantabile Live Action (Japanese)
looking at how honey and clover failing miserably in the remake into a drama, i never had high hopes for this drama. however, i'm glad that i decided to watch this in the end. although some of the lame stuff are still.. lame, most of them are cute and funny, which kinda gives the drama more depth in the comedy aspect. love the music, love the actors/actresses, love the acting and the storyline isn't boring even though i watched this drama right after finishing the anime - this is just a superb drama.
ohh, and the 2 special episodes after the drama series were amazing! why do i say that? because most OVAs that i've watched are boring and shitty, but, the storyline of this drama's OVA is just simply gratifying!
A Must Watch! for all music lovers <3 it's one of the best, or rather the best drama remake if you ask me =)

movie. Legend of the 7 Cutters (Korean) i remember watching like 5 minutes of this movie during my poly days, when me and some of my friends were still crazy over the Yoon Eun Hye (Goong - a.k.a. Princess Hours) Fever. and since i didnt have a chance to watch the entire movie then, i decided to watch it now.
this movie was one of those lame ass romance movie with a bit of action. even though im a fan to cute lame-ness, i didn't really find the storyline appealing. so heres my verdict..
my brother's wedding is most probably on the 6TH OF JUNE next year! if you haven't got the hint, its on MY BIRTHDAY! haha, yeah and it's MY 21ST BIRTHDAY to be more exact! isn't that like "shuang xi ling men", which means double happiness =)
best thing is: wedding = a lot of people = many many gifts for me too right? ._. LOL call me materialistic or whatever, i don't really care =p
i know its 6am in the morning, but i couldn't sleep again ._. anyway, i remember saying that i'll post the pics that we took in starbucks right? but since we really took very few pictures, i made them into 2 professional looking collages instead =)
so here they are..
oh and the date of our outing that day was on the 12th of july and not the 13th. ignore the small typo error in the previous picture that i posted.

ok since i don't really feel like blogging today, i'll just give you guys a short update.
went out for dinner today to metropole herbal restaurant in clarke quay with charmaine's family to discuss about their (charmaine and my bro's) marriage, which is most probably be next year =)

other than that, i can't wait for wednesday's trip to the zoo!

have a stiff neck today and it was terrible. its like whenever i try to tilt my head too much to any direction, it'll start to hurt really badly! but anyway, apart from that, i got a phone call from a sneaky nerd today which woke me up from my slumber..
sneaky nerd, "hello.." me, "yes?" sneaky nerd, "do you wanna go out today?" me, "i don't mind, what time?" sneaky nerd, "ermm.. around 6.30pm after my piano lesson?" me, "ok.. what time is it now?" sneaky nerd, "ermm.. 5.30pm" me, "5.30pm! so late already?" sneaky nerd, "haha no la, its only 1.50pm" me, "-.-"
haha yup, so thats the conversation. why is she a sneaky nerd? im sure you can see from that conversation on how she's sneaky, as for the nerd part.. i dunno lol, her nickname in my phone is nerd, so.. lol
anyway, i ended up meeting up with her and queen for a short evening outing. went to pasta mania for dinner and sorry cal_bloders, but i forgot to take any photos there because we were just too hungry =p ohh, and banana dessert pizza is actually quite nice, though it might sound disgusting lol
after which we started walking aimlessly to town and ended up in paragon's starbucks.
will post more pictures when i get them from the rest..
what did we talk about over there? all kinds of stuff from normal to horny lol. we started off talking about the regulars and relationships and then it turned 360 degrees into an R(A) conversation with all kinds of crap in it ._.
oh and ive thought of a name for the 3 of us.. clique^3 [a.k.a. clique(cubed)]
anyway, we've decided to go to the zoo this coming monday/wednesday (you can join us if you want =) will be asking some of the regulars if they can make it) and have a regulars dinner on saturday if the rest can make it.
ok, so apart from that, i ran into something interesting on my bus ride home today!
and no the polices were not pointing guns, but torchlights.. and when we saw it, we were like wtf?!? lol
apparently, after a sudden break from the bus driver, we heard some noises from the bottom deck. (it was a double decker bus and queen and me was on the top) after the bus stopped at the next bus stop, the noises grew louder and then 2 guys (one is drunk according to the other spectators) and the driver got off the bus and started quarrelling! there were police there too, so we got off the bus and joined the crowd of spectators. all i heard from the guy was, "it wasnt me" and he kept repeating that.. i wondered what happened? ._. but since queen was afraid that the mess will grow into a violent one and that she'll get stabbed or shot by someone (LOL), we decided to walk away from it and take a cab home..
and one last thing.. wenn was saying that i look pretty today, not handsome..
hmm..
so what do you think? lol i always thought i had a much more feminine look, compared to a masculine one, so i don't really care. what's more, i was once called "pretty boy" by manpreet during my secondary school days to irritate me but i always took that as a compliment haha

i initially planned to blog a long entry today, but since my mood is disrupted by wenn's lousy html skills lol, ill just try to blog as much as i can.
went out with queen today, for beads hunting.. again.. wenn was suppose to join us today, but shes busy with her stuff (so she ditched us T-T) so she couldn't join us today.
and thank God that queen was smart enough to call my house at 2pm today, because that call woke me up. we were suppose to meet at 230pm at bugis but i kinda had problems sleeping at night these few days, so i slept at about 10am? haha ya.. so we decided to meet up at 3pm at outram instead.
while waiting for her there, i decided to pop by the 7-11 for strepsils and a bottle of mineral water (and yes, im still a bit sick). then i started to have a dilemma - lemon with honey or vitamin c ._.
but after i saw this..

i have reached a decision.. the winner of Singapore's Next Top Male Model is.. Caleb! lemon with honey
why? because if the vitamin c flavour have got to be improved, i can't really imagine how healthy it will taste =/ and you know what they say.. healthy food is mostly yucky.
anyway, after we reached bugis, we went for lunch, at bugis' food junction.
chicken pepper rice
as you can see from the picture above, i had the chicken pepper rice, and queen ordered the beef pepper rice. after which we went to various places to get her stuff and ended our trip in chinatown.
hmmm, today was actually much more pleasant than i expected lol and since we didnt take any pics of our gorgeous sleves, heres some picture that i took of myself =)
i know that discovering the escapade isnt what im trying to potray in the pictures, but it sounds nicer than what i initially wanted =p
yup, wore a cap today. wanted to wear my shades too, but then decided to ditch it in the end.
one last thing.. for those who didnt realise, but im sure you guys already have, ive added a photo gallery in the misc. section! and the gallery showcases mainly pictures of me and some other group shots! cover the other people's faces with your fingers if you must ._. and yes, all of them are retouched.
when i checked my mail today, i found something interesteing =)
it's a new application in facebook - IQ Test (Advanced Level). it's supposed to be a more accurate version of the old IQ test that i did some time ago.
so heres the result..
managed to get 8 out of 15 qns right! but took more than 15mins
so this shows that im smart lol (wency do this test and prove to me that my extra point doesnt prove that im smarter than you =p)
haha i know its strange to see me blog in the morning but since im awake, or rather since i haven't gone to bed, i guess i'll just give you guys a bit of info on my new blogskin and banner =)

oh and the new layout is much more neater. got rid of the referral thingy because it was lagging the entire blog. ive added a counter at the welcome page too and did a little change to my boring profile page. label names - tales of the monkey and thoughts of the monkey has been changed too! they're now known as tales of caleb and thoughts of caleb because i thought that it was time to erase the kid in me and embrace my mature self =p
and why did i give my blog the name of the 7th avenue? that name was one of the names that i thought of for wenn's new blog shop, but since she don't want it and i kinda liked it, i took that name for myself.
i wanna say something before i start blogging about my daily activities - i seem to be getting more and more winks from speedate (the facebook application), even though i typed in this for the profile section,
"don't bother to wink me if you won't start the conversation. i don't really open up easily to other people =) and conversation =/= wink ._.".
i mean can't they read, don't wink if you don't start the conversation, as simple as that =/ not that they appeal to me anyway, so whatever.. oh and sad thing is, one of the girl that seem to get along with me (or at least i think so) kinda stopped talking to me after my absense from online activities because my illness..

haha, ok thats lame, anyway, i went out with my parents today! yup, i love going out with them on mondays, cos thats the ONLY time that i can actually enjoy spending time with them. and today, we went to my cousin's place for lunch. had lots of fun looking at all our old photos. me and marcus even did a remake of a photo that was taken when we were 8 yrs old! haha, can't wait for him to post it on facebook =p (maybe we should wear red and redo that photo again! haha)
after that, my parents fetched grace to bugis, cos she needed to get some stuff. during our car ride there, we chatted a bit, oh and grace if u wanna know queena, vice versa, u can visit her blog, or let me know =)
and because i still have got quite a bad cough, i tried to prevent myself from coughing in the car, so that the germs wont spread, but once it was so bad that my right eye actually started tearing for no reason lol and i think my cousin saw that lol how embarrassing =x
and then after which we went to newton for awhile for my parents to settle some stuff. so i was left all alone in the car at that time.. decided to lower the volume of the radio and blast some classical music with my ipod and it was actually really relaxing.

and then we headed back home for dinner.. one word to describe the entire dinner table, "FRIED!". haha yup, fried fish, bitter goud with fried fish, chicken wings and pork chop..
so thats all for today i guess.
now lets backtrack a bit to sunday. went to bukit merah's (my alma mater) band concert. ms chong is still as cute as ever, ms prema.. i miss her scolding us nuts =p mrs lim actually remember me haha *ahem* was one of her top students *ahem* ya and mrs chung? - wency's teacher - actually remembers me ._.
yup, and now for the concert.. i initially wanted to do ratings for each song, but i decided not to in the end because i have not been in the band scene for quite time. so, here are my comments instead..

Festivo when the first note actually cracked like humpty dumpty, wenn turned her face and gave me an agonising look lol. hmm, for a first song, it was actually not very good. even if u say that the nerve and stuff are getting to you, its really still not good enough. and the band is out of tune.
Yorkshire Ballad a better song, but it isnt very good as well. one thing i noticed is how the euphoniums are freaking dragging the whole band's tempo to like super slow in one part of the song. still out of tune.
Fugue on Yankee Doodle for an easy song, it was really bad..
Sun Dancing hmm, its strange but ive got no memory of this song =/ not even how it sounded like haha. so no comments.
Rumble on the High Plains - Guest Band very entertaining and its a good strategy to make your audience focus on the drumming as the band just sneaked through the entire song haha
Coral Sea (a.k.a. 珊瑚海) - Guest Band not a song that i liked, but i found it average. not a bad song, but its not good either.
Hips Don't Lie - Guest Band as i have said, this band knows their weakness' however, they still can't hide them, so, this was average too!
Do-Re-Mi it was not good bad for a simple piece. pitchy, messy..
When You Tell Me You Love Me - With Singers was listening to the singers so i didnt really notice the band's playing for this song. but the singers were quite bad also la.. zhao xia~
Moonlight Represents My Heart - With Singer same as the song b4, didnt really notice the band and was enjoying the singer. haha much more entertaining than the previous song.
In Time of Triumph - Combined With Guest Band I thought that this was actually the best song of the concert.
Hawaii five-o (Encore) - Combined With Guest Band i actually found it ok, but the others are complaining about the tempo being too slow =/
so thats all the songs..
overall, i thought that the guest band was actually a lot better than bmcb and some people should just stick to what they are assigned to. shall not say more to prevent myself from being flamed.. and before anyone start flaming my tagboard, let me say this..

with that said, everyone has different expectations from your concert so you can't expect everyone to like/hate your concert. so if you guys enjoyed your concert, then so be it and stay happy with that feelings, like how we did with jubilance =)
so after the concert, my bitch left us.. so it was just me, wenn, queen and gin who went to marina square for our dinner.
i know! i am recovering from my illness and should avoid these food, but i just couldn't help myself =p
after which, we went to macdonalds for dessert..
and then wenn caught me in my emolisation stance..

some reviews on the stuff that ive been watching for the past few weeks, enjoy =)
Elemental Gelade (Japanese Anime) Not a good anime, but not a very lousy one either. comparing this to mai hime or even bleach, which has a similar genre, mai hime will be a lot better than this, while bleach will definitely win hands down.
one thing that i particularly hate about this anime is the ending! endings are suppose to give u a nice conclusion and leave you with sweet memories of the anime, but this isnt the case for elemental gelade. So i will advise you not to watch it =)

I Like It Hot (Korean Movie) when i glanced through the summary on this movie, i thought that it was gonna be another lame ass movie. however, i still decided to watch it due to the number of positive comments and i really liked this movie. i found the story rather interesting.
its about 3 women facing 3 different taboos in love - the love between the same gender (lesbian), - the love between a young and an old & - the love for 2 persons at the same time.
not an amazing movie, but i will say that its worth watching.

Camp Rock (English Movie) this musical was a total bummer imo. although i did enjoyed the show, because its a musical, (and you know that i love musicals haha), and they had an ensemble of cute casts, i would have to say that this musical is just not powerful enough. although some of the songs that they had were nice, the storyline is really only suitable for the young.
so unless you're a jonas borthers fan, this movie should be called camp rock bottom.

blog readers, new and old, sorry for my absence these few days as i recuperate from my illness =) although im still in the stage of recovery, im very sure that ill be in a good enough condition to go to the bmcb concert tmr haha can't wait for it actually!

anyway, heres some boring updates on the journal of a sick monkey..
Day 1 2nd July, Wednesday - my sore throat was really bad, but i thought that just drinking lots of water would cure it, so i didnt really care about it.
Day 2 3rd July, Thursday - i started to develop a fever and had muscle-aches. for a moment i thought i have contacted with the SARS virus and that im gonna die soon =p and because i felt so weak, i was practically bedridden. slept/rested on my bed for about a total of 20hrs? or maybe even more haha..
my entire family didnt realise that i was sick till they saw me eating porridge instead of rice during dinner haha..
took this pic and thought to myself, "hmm, i actually look quite well when im sick, no wonder no one realised it."
and guess what, it only gets better in the night..
Day 3 4th July, Friday
the worst moment of my life.
my temperature shot up sky high, and my body started to ache really badly. as it was about 3am at that time, i decided to take care of myself, at least till the next morning as i didnt want to disturb my family from their slumber. so i tried all kinds of stuff like cold packs, drinking gallons of water, etc. but none of those work as the temperature stayed stagnant.
my mind went crazy and i really thought that i would get some brain damage or something the next morning because of the fever haha.. at that moment i was actually really afraid and thoughts of hospitalisation and death flowed through my brain. so i started praying (something which i haven't done for ages), and i think that God actually answered my prayer because i finally managed to fall asleep at about 5am. and when i woke up the next morning, my fever subsided but a new illness has appeared.. cough lol
so i made myself to go and see a doctor in the afternoon and now im under medication. ohh, and my doctor also said that i look like a japanese haha
one word, "YUCK!"
so i guess that concludes the journey of sick caleb! haha
ohh and for those who didnt know, (though i think im the last to realise it haha), riah has already resurrected her blog from the dead! and i always feel knowledgeable when i read her blog lol, maybe because she has so much depth in her writing and i dont =p
oh and my appeal to ntu got rejected! yeah, im kinda glad that it was rejected. why? because going to ntu's ME course, or rather goin to ntu was kinda my mum's dream and not mine, and being rejected only gives me more time to think about what i really want (which is designing)
ok, ive got a rather bad sore throat, which i can feel erupting at my neck area, but i dont give a damn to it, cos i always don't (but this time it seems really bad.. anyone have got any remedies for it?), and im super bored today, because im stuck at home (no dates for today =() and have got nothing nice to do. didnt felt like playing cabal somehow, so i decided to watch a bit of anime and then do this...

haha yeah, so ive decided to try and call them today. but to my disappointment, this was what the guy told me..
"i'm sorry but the delivery service around your area will not be avaliable due to rain, (when theres no rain at all.. at least at my area), please try calling again in 30mins time."
ok, so i didnt call after that cos i found the reason crappy, but ill try again soon ._.
and i think i owe wency an apology for being so cynical, so im sorry. caleb
had dinner just now and my mum bought rojak! i love rojak haha and i think i can eat it everyday.
other than that, i found the new magnum ice cream advertisment rather interesting. (the one with eva longoria - shes soo hot!) if you don't know which ad im talking about, click here! (its the same commercial just that its in portuguese)
oh and i was kinda bored in the afternoon, so i played with some of wenn's applications in her blog, and this was one of the results lol

ok im rather pissed now because i just spent 2 hours trying to retouch a photo which looked absolutely gorgeous after the editting, and for some reason, i didnt save the file! damn.. shall not elaborate!

we started our journey in bugis' food junction to have our lunch. ore-wa ordered japanese food, wenn-chan tou queen-chan ordered korean food.
though it looks bland, i found it rather yummy =3
ohh, and the japanese stall cashier was looking staring and smiling at me when i ordered my meal. maybe its because i was their only customer at that time, or maybe because i look really good so she was flirting with me =x i looked quite japanese with this hairstyle haha
ohh, and talking about hairstyles, i think i need to trim or cut my hair.. its getting longer and the girls said that my hair aint as nice as it used to be =/ sheesh
ok, now back to the story.. after our lunch, we headed to haji lane to help them pick up some beads and stuff for their creations. (and yes, i was once again the useless entertainer who does nothing but just follow them around... i seriously wonder why do i even bother going out with them ._. lol)
anyway, after that, we went to chinatown to visit more beading shops and ended our day at a dessert shop in people's park.
and then it was time for cam-whoring lol
not many pics were taken this time and most of them were rather ugly =/ oh, and remember when i said i sounded more and more like queena, heres an example of that - i accidentally blurted out the words "pathetic bitch" when queen was running dry on cash =x lol whatever happened to the young and innocent caleb ._.
